Fagget Fairys

22 Oct

fagget fairys

The Faggot Fairys is an amazing dirty, grimey electro duo from Denmark, comprised of the lesbian couple; Ena (Elena Carli)- former model who met DJ Sensimilla (Camilla Hjort) in Copenhagen nightclub, Vega. The meeting lead to Ena needing 15 stitches after stage diving onto a broken bottle in attempt to impress Sensimilla….but also lead to the beginning of the Fagget Fairys.

They’re sexy, bassey and dirty Feed The Horse, produced in NYC with Grammy-Award winning Rasmus Billie Bahncke and it will leave you druelling for more…luckily they have a full album out with Music For Dreams now, full of luscious, sexy vocals with 4a.m. written all over them!

Boys Noize Album + Mix

27 Sep

Boys Noize

A long awaited follow up to Oi Oi Oi has finally come from German DJ Alex Ridha, more commonly known as Boys Noize.  Power will be released through Alex’s own label Boys Noize Records this October and a world tour for the new record is yet to be announced.

The album begins with suitably with Gax which features a magical melodical kind of sound to build you up before rolling into the energetic electro like Jeffer, Starter and Kontact Me, which you all already know are awesome with the robot vocals, heavy bassline and scratchy and dicey experimentalism.

Throughout the middle of the album, Ridha slows it down a bit with Transmission which goes back into that more melodic captivating sound and Nerve which is a lot more minimal and experimental. The next couple, Trooper and Drumming feature a addictive fusion of electro and drumming to really get you moving.

From there it really gets back into it with Ridha’s usually well-crafted anticipation at the beginning of each track before really dropping the choppy bassline. The album finally finishes with Heart Attack, a soft and ambient track which will leave you feeling all fuzzy and magical on the inside.

Power Tracklisting:

1. Gax

2. Kontact Me

3. Starter

4. Jeffer

5. Transmission

6. Nerve

7. Trooper

8. Drummer

9.  Sweet Light

10. Rozz Box

11. Nott

New From Chromeo

23 Sep

Pee Thugg and Dave 1 make up Chromeo, an electronic synth-pop due from the states. Pee and Dave met in 1993 and have been best friends since, although Pee recalls that he “didn’t really like (Dave) at first”; Pee was mainly a hip-hop kid where Dave was a skater. However, lucky for us, the two managed to sort out their differences and let their deep love of funk and electro music bring them closer together.

After their massive first album, Fancy Footwork, Chromeo have teamed up with Green Label Sound to start working on their first original tracks since 2007. Here’s a sneak peek:

Party In The Pance

20 Sep

Pance Party

I am loving San Francisco producer trio, Pance Party, more and more…since releasing the EP “Four Million Puppies”, they’ve turned more to remixing, with versions of Chester French’s “She Loves Everybody” and, number one on Hype Machine’s popular chart, The Presets “Kicking and Screaming”.

But, there is more than meets the eye to this “dome scorching” group. Andy, originally from Philidelphia, used to work as a Neuroscientist before he made the changed to music, and now also makes custom multi-touchscreen music controllers. Eric started life in the Bay Area and found his muse in the Berlin Electro scene, and even one the Price Is Once, kudos to him! Ben (or Swardy if you like) once rode his bicycle across America and is a big fan of Subway.

Together, these boys make Pance Party, a fun, “hyper-absurd and preposterous” electro group that experience the ultimate delight in creating innovative sounds, “face-melting bass – enough raw sonic energy to turn even the most negative Nancy into a raving lunatic on the dance floor.”
