LCD Soundsystem A Drunk Girl

31 Mar

We all wait in anticipation as one-man-band, American producer James Murphy a.k.a. LCD Soundsystem…thinks of a name for his new album. The album itself will obviously be nice, but with less than two months until the release through DFA Records (co-founded by Murphy), the album still remains nameless.

One single from the new album has been released though, Drunk Girls, which Murphy has said that the song relates to the L.A. mansion at which they recorded, “where all the boys…were called ‘the girls’ by the tour chef.” An observation of the drunken antics of guys and girls, this track is as usual a funky electro-punk blend with Murphy’s unique element of fun added in. It definitely wets our appetite for the feature length.

Jazica

23 Mar

Southhampton has given us a new indie four piece to look out for, Jazica. They’ve toured with Thew Chew Lips, Just Jack, Two Door Cinema Club and Delphic amongst others and are definitely fitting themselves nicely into a similar scene. An addictive blend of synth, drums, guitar and sweet vocals, they create the perfect pop songs but with that added indie-electronica element that keep them to a music appreciating underground fan base.

Originally formed back in 2007 as a duo and featuring a more acoustic sound, the band has since expanded for the better, developing and edgy electro sound whilst staying true to their indie roots. Grab their EP, Cut Shapes, out now, this guys are definitely ones to watch out for.
